A Chinese business delegation led by Mr. Yang Wansheng, Chairman of Guangxi Wanshenglong Investment Group Co. Ltd, arrived in Kigali today to explore investment opportunities in smart city infrastructure and urban development.
The delegation was welcomed by the Mayor of the City of Kigali, Samuel Dusengiyumva, alongside representatives from their local partner, Eaglemark Holding Ltd.
Discussions focused on potential areas of collaboration, particularly in deploying smart technologies, supporting Kigali’s sustainable urbanization plans, and establishing strategic partnerships to accelerate the city’s modernization.
Mayor Dusengiyumva outlined Kigali’s vision of becoming a leading smart city in Africa, emphasizing the need for innovative, private-sector-driven solutions.
He encouraged the delegation to take advantage of Kigali’s favorable investment environment and growing technology ecosystem.
Chairman Yang Wansheng expressed strong interest in Kigali’s development agenda and highlighted his company’s experience in delivering smart city solutions across Asia.
He reiterated Guangxi Wanshenglong’s readiness to contribute to Kigali’s transformation through impactful, long-term investments.
The visit concluded with both sides agreeing to pursue further technical discussions aimed at developing concrete projects to support Kigali’s smart city ambitions.
