On Thursday afternoon, the BAL4HER Careers in Sports Workshop, organized by the Basketball Africa League (BAL) on the sidelines of the Season 4 tournament finals in Kigali, provided a significant platform for raising awareness and inspiring women to pursue leadership positions and various careers in sports.
The event highlighted the achievements of current women leaders in sports and aimed to empower the next generation of women in the industry.
Michael Rugwizangoga, the Chief Tourism Officer of the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), participated in the workshop, emphasizing Rwanda’s commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering women in all sectors, including sports.
“We celebrate current women leaders in sports, on and off the court, while empowering the next generation of women in the sports industry,” said Rugwizangoga, reflecting the initiative’s mission to support and inspire women to excel in various sports-related careers.
The workshop featured discussions with prominent female sports leaders and professionals who shared their experiences and provided guidance on navigating and succeeding in the sports industry.
