Arrested Rebel Commander Claims Kabila Supports Rebellion

The Common Front for Congo (FCC) has rejected allegations that its leader and exPresident Joseph Kabila supports the Congo River Alliance (AFC) rebel movement.

Eric Nkuba Shibantu paraded by Congolese Army before local and international media claimed Joseph Kabila and other senior officials in the government support the AFC but FCC strongly rejects the claims.

AFC claimed its rebel commander was kidnapped by Tanzania from the airport in Dar es Salaam where he had travelled.

The FCC said it condemns “allegations labelled against its leader known to be a man of peace, dialogue, a proven patriot and democrat”.

In a statement made this Saturday, FCC said it condemns with the greatest firmness, the allegations made against its leader.

The party describes Kabila as “a man of peace and dialogue, a proven patriot and democrat, a Statesman respectful of the Constitution”.

The FCC said that Kabila cannot support rebels because during the eighteen years of his rule, was confronted with rebellions, putsch attempts but did not blame it on the politicians critical of his regime.

The current leadership which “discovered” patriotism in 2019 mask their chronic incapacity and accuse those who are not of their obedience of treachery of variable geometry.

The FCC added, “Kabila, instead of being vilified and unfairly questioned, rather deserves to be recognized as a national heritage to be preserved, and treated with respect and consideration.”

The current regime wants to attribute their failures on others, instead of the naive, poorly thought out and poorly applied policies.

The FCC noted Kabila, at only 29 years old, inherited a “Balkanized” country, whose central power only controlled a third of the national territory, the rest, or two thirds, being divided into four pseudo-States, each having its administration, army and police.
