An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale hit Santiago del Estero Province, northern Argentina.

The quake struck at a depth of 593 kilometers, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).

Argentinian authorities said that there are no victims or reports of damage yet.
