Rwanda’s commitment to gender equality and inclusive economic growth took center stage last week as Rwanda Development Board (RDB) Deputy CEO Juliana Muganza delivered a keynote address at the Women & International Business Forum in Brasília.
The high-level forum, hosted by ApexBrasil, brought together global leaders, policymakers, and business executives to explore strategies for empowering women in international trade and investment.
In her address, Muganza underscored Rwanda’s progressive reforms that have significantly advanced gender equality and increased women’s participation across key sectors of the economy.
She highlighted the country’s global recognition for having one of the highest representations of women in government, alongside growing female leadership in the private sector.
“Rwanda’s journey demonstrates that gender equality is not only a social imperative but also a powerful driver of economic transformation,” Muganza said. “By creating an enabling environment for women to thrive in business and leadership, we are unlocking the full potential of our economy.”

She further emphasized the pivotal role of the Rwanda Development Board in fostering a business-friendly ecosystem, noting its efforts to streamline investment processes, support entrepreneurs, and position Rwanda as a competitive destination for global investors.
Muganza’s participation at the forum reinforced Rwanda’s reputation as a leader in gender-inclusive governance and economic development, while also strengthening ties with international partners seeking sustainable and inclusive growth models.
The Women & International Business Forum served as a platform for exchanging best practices and building partnerships aimed at advancing women’s economic empowerment worldwide.
