President Paul Kagame has officially received the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who began a two-day state visit to Rwanda.
The visit is expected to further strengthen and preserve the strong bilateral relations between the two nations.
Rwanda and Qatar continue to collaborate across several key sectors, including tourism investment, economic development, and diplomatic cooperation.
Officials highlight that this visit will not only reaffirm the longstanding partnership but also open new opportunities for strategic investment and deeper cooperation in mutually beneficial areas.
The Emir was received upon arrival at Kigali International Airport by His Excellency President Paul Kagame of the Republic of Rwanda.

Also present to welcome His Highness were His Excellency Olivier Nduhungirehe, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; His Excellency General Mubarak Muganga, Chief of Staff of the Rwandan Defence Forces; His Excellency Samuel Dusingyumva, Mayor of Kigali; His Excellency Igor Marara Kaynamura, Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to the State of Qatar; and a number of other high-ranking officials and members of the Qatari Embassy.
His Highness the Emir is accompanied by an official delegation.
President Kagame later hosted His Highness at his farm in Kibugabuga, where the two leaders held a tête-à-tête meeting.
The Rwandan leader gifted His Highness with Inyambo Cows, a symbolic gesture rooted in Rwandan tradition, signifying friendship, mutual respect, and the strong bond between the two leaders and their nations.
