### RURA Announces Adjustments to Fuel Prices in Rwanda
**Kigali, Rwanda – August 7, 2024:** The Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) has announced new adjustments to fuel prices, effective from 7:00 PM on August 7, 2024. This update follows a previous revision on June 5, 2024.
Under the latest announcement, the maximum retail price for Gasoline (Premium Motor Spirit) will be 1,629 Frw per liter, a decrease from 1,663 Frw per liter. This represents a reduction of approximately 2.0%. The price for Diesel (Automotive Gas Oil) remains unchanged at 1,652 Frw per liter, maintaining the same price as before.
The comparison between the two announcements shows:
Gasoline’s (Premium Motor Spirit), price has decreased by 34 Frw per liter, or about 2.0%.
For Diesel (Automotive Gas Oil), the price remains unchanged at 1,652 Frw per liter.
RURA’s Director General, RUGIGANA Evariste, stated that these adjustments are primarily influenced by recent changes in international petroleum product prices.
The goal is to align local fuel prices with current global market trends and economic conditions.
The revision in gasoline prices, in particular, may positively impact various sectors, notably transportation and logistics, which are significantly affected by fuel costs.
