Five insurgents from the Ugandan Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebellion were neutralised during a sting operation on Monday in the commune of Mulekera, in Beni (North Kivu).
According to Captain Anthony Mualushayi, the military spokesperson in Beni, one attacker was captured during the operation.
The sting operation was in response to the over 15 deaths of civilians in Beni. The Ugandan army also took part in operations in the town of Beni.
“We have implemented security tactics in Toda. These strategic measures have paid off. Our troops in collaboration with the Ugandan army neutralised 5 terrorists and captured one named Bahati Kasiwa, recruited in Masisi territory,” said Capt. Mualushayi.
