The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has increased its annual funding for each of its 54 Member Associations to up to $700,000, a 33% rise from the previous allocation of $525,000.
CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe announced the increase, alongside a separate rise in annual support for CAF’s Zonal Unions from $750,000 to $900,000, a 20% increase.
The latest adjustment continues a series of increases introduced under Motsepe and the CAF Executive Committee. Member Associations received $200,000 annually in 2021. That amount was later doubled to $400,000, increased to $525,000, and has now risen to $700,000.
CAF said the funding is part of its efforts to help make football across its 54 Member Associations world-class and financially self-sustaining.
