Rwanda is seeking to strengthen diplomatic and economic cooperation with countries whose ambassadors to Rwanda are based in Kenya, as part of efforts to deepen bilateral relations and advance shared interests in international forums.
The Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr Usta Kaitesi, held discussions with the diplomats in Nairobi on Thursday, October 8, 2026, providing updates on Rwanda’s development progress and regional developments.
The meeting brought together representatives of countries accredited to Rwanda but resident in Kenya, alongside diplomats preparing to take up similar assignments.
Kaitesi highlighted opportunities to expand cooperation between Rwanda and the countries represented, emphasising the importance of strengthening bilateral partnerships and collaboration within multilateral institutions.
“Rwanda is committed to strengthening cooperation with its partners, building on shared interests and expanding collaboration both bilaterally and within international institutions,” Kaitesi said.
The engagement also provided a platform for exchanging views on ways to enhance mutually beneficial partnerships and sustain diplomatic relations between Rwanda and other countries.
Through continued engagement with diplomatic representatives, Rwanda seeks to promote cooperation across areas of common interest while ensuring that its partners remain informed about the country’s development priorities and the evolving situation in the region.
