Kigali is hosting the Rwanda–Senegal Business Forum, bringing together government officials, public institutions and private-sector representatives from both countries to identify new investment opportunities and deepen economic cooperation.

Held on October 7, 2026, at the Kigali Marriott Hotel, the forum coincides with the first session of the Rwanda–Senegal Mixed Permanent Cooperation Commission.

It is jointly organised by Rwanda’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MINAFFET) and Senegal’s Agency for Investment Promotion and Large Projects (APIX Senegal).

The discussions are aimed at expanding trade, attracting investment and creating stronger partnerships between companies from Rwanda and Senegal, while identifying sectors where businesses from the two countries can work together.

Deputy Director General of the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), Juliana Kangeli Muganza, highlighted the growing opportunities for Rwandan products in Senegal and encouraged Senegalese investors to explore Rwanda as a base for accessing wider African markets.

“Various products Made in Rwanda have been presented on the Senegalese market,” Muganza said, while inviting Senegalese companies to consider Rwanda as a gateway to markets in East Africa and across the continent.

She also pointed to opportunities presented by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which seeks to create a single market for goods and services across Africa.

The forum provides a platform for businesses and government institutions to exchange information on investment opportunities, discuss barriers to trade and explore partnerships that can translate into concrete business deals.

The meeting also forms part of broader efforts by Rwanda and Senegal to strengthen bilateral economic relations, with the Mixed Permanent Cooperation Commission expected to review existing areas of cooperation and identify new areas for collaboration.

For Rwanda, the engagement offers an opportunity to promote Made in Rwanda products, investment opportunities and the country’s position as a regional business hub, while Senegalese companies can explore entry points into Rwanda and the wider East African market.

The two-day engagement is expected to strengthen private-sector links and encourage greater movement of capital, goods, services and business expertise between the two countries.
