Rwanda’s Foreign Affairs Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe held talks with a Ukrainian parliamentary delegation on October 1, 2026, as the two countries explored ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The Ukrainian delegation, visiting Rwanda for two days, was led by Oleksandr Merezhko, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Ukraine’s Parliament, and Zhan Beleniuk, head of the Rwanda-Ukraine Friendship Group.
The discussions focused on strengthening political and diplomatic ties between Rwanda and Ukraine, while identifying areas where the two countries can expand practical cooperation.
The visit provides an opportunity for lawmakers from both sides to deepen parliamentary engagement and build stronger links around shared interests.
The delegation’s meeting with Nduhungirehe is part of broader efforts to maintain dialogue between Rwanda and Ukraine as both countries seek to expand their bilateral engagement.
The two-day visit also underscores the role of parliamentary diplomacy in supporting relations between the two countries and creating avenues for cooperation beyond government-to-government ties.
