MTN Rwanda has hosted Senior Vice President Ebenezer Twum Asante and members of MTN Uganda’s executive committee for several days of discussions and knowledge-sharing.

The visit brought together teams from the two markets to share experiences and reflect on how they could improve their work.

“We shared experiences from our different markets, exchanged perspectives, and had honest conversations about what we can continue to do better,” MTN Rwanda said.

MTN Rwanda executives included Chairman Faustin K. Mbundu and Chief Executive Officer Monzer Ali. Its Mobile Money Rwanda Limited subsidiary Chief Executive Officer Chantal Umutoni Kagame also attended.

The company’s executive committee also included leaders responsible for finance, technology, customer experience, consumer and digital services, and sales and distribution.

The exchange comes as both operations expand their connectivity and digital financial services. MTN Rwanda reported 8.7 million subscribers in the first half of 2026, including 6.4 million active Mobile Money users.

MTN Uganda reported 24.2 million subscribers for 2025, with growth in data and fintech services.

Asante is MTN Group’s Senior Vice President for Markets. He previously served as chief executive of MTN Rwanda and MTN Ghana, bringing experience from different markets to his current role.

MTN Rwanda did not announce specific decisions or new initiatives arising from the visit.

It said the teams left with “new perspectives, renewed energy and an even stronger connection,” describing the discussions as part of the shared purpose and ambition of the MTN Group.
