Foreign Affairs Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe has reaffirmed Rwanda’s commitment to supporting peace and stability in South Sudan.
Nduhungirehe represented President Paul Kagame at the African Union’s C5 Plus high-level meeting on South Sudan, held virtually on September 29 and chaired by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The meeting reviewed the political and security situation in South Sudan and ongoing efforts to strengthen peace.
“Rwanda remains committed to contributing to efforts aimed at promoting peace and security in South Sudan, including through peacekeeping operations and other cooperation mechanisms,” Nduhungirehe said.
He added that Rwanda will continue supporting South Sudan through peacekeeping and other initiatives aimed at consolidating peace and stability.
