Rwanda and Switzerland are moving to deepen cooperation in health technology, medical workforce development, pandemic preparedness and research, as the two countries explore new ways to strengthen their health systems and exchange expertise.
The areas of potential collaboration were discussed during a meeting between Rwanda’s Minister of Health, Dr. Sabin Nsanzimana, RDB Deputy CEO Juliana Muganza and Swiss Federal Councillor Elisabeth Baume-Schneider.
The discussions also focused on expanding knowledge exchange and creating stronger links in health research, with technology identified as an important area for future cooperation.

The talks come as Rwanda continues to invest in innovation, skills development and partnerships aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery and preparedness for emerging health threats.
For Switzerland, the engagement provides an opportunity to build on existing cooperation with Rwanda while supporting collaboration in research, health innovation and human-resource development.
The discussions are expected to help identify practical areas where institutions from both countries can work together and share expertise to advance healthcare outcomes.
