The Vice President of the Senate in charge of Administration and Finance, Dr. Alvera Mukabaramba, has called on Senate staff to maintain dedication, teamwork and professionalism as the institution welcomes its new Secretary General, Olivier Mushimire.
Dr. Mukabaramba made the remarks during a handover ceremony between Mushimire and his predecessor, Dr. Yvonne Umulisa, marking the official transition of leadership within the Senate’s administrative structure.
She urged staff to remain committed to their responsibilities and work collectively to strengthen the effectiveness of the Senate in carrying out its mandate.
“I urge all Senate staff to continue working with dedication, collaboration and professionalism so that we can further strengthen the work and effectiveness of the institution,” Dr. Mukabaramba said.
Mushimire takes over from Dr. Umulisa, who served as Secretary General before handing over responsibilities as part of the leadership transition.
The ceremony brought together Senate officials and staff to formally mark the change and provide an opportunity to acknowledge the work carried out under the outgoing Secretary General.
As the new Secretary General assumes office, the Senate is expected to continue focusing on effective administration, coordination and support for its legislative and oversight responsibilities.
The transition also underscores the importance of continuity within the institution, with staff encouraged to work together to ensure that ongoing activities and institutional priorities remain on course.
