Angola has been elected to serve on the IAEA Board of Governors for the 2026–2028 period.
The election of the 2026-2028 term took place on September 17 during the 70th conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (Sept 14-18).
Angola joined the IAEA in September 1999 and signed the National Framework Programme until 2029 for technology transfer in radiological Safety, health, Agriculture and environment.
There are only six African countries signatory to IAEA comprised of 35 States.
