The President of Democratic Republic of Congo Félix Tshisekedi has been slammed by critics of his regime accusing him of abandoning his country at war and spending millions of taxpayers money to fly to Brussels only to launch his brother’s restaurant.
Taarifa has reliably learned that Tshisekedi has been in Brussels for four days just waiting to inaugurate Tony Nkaku Shiku’s restaurant.
Tshisekedi has been accompanied by a large delegation from Kinshasa including several members of the Congolese government.
Previously known as “Ancien Rouge Tomate,” the establishment has been renamed “Rome.” It is located at 190, avenue Louise, in Brussels.
The prospect of this inauguration is already sparking reactions, particularly in light of the security and humanitarian situation facing the DRC.
One critic on x platform notes, “seeing the head of state devote time to the inauguration of restaurants owned by his relatives, while the country is at war, raises questions about the priorities associated with the exercise of the presidential function.”
