Construction Of 500km Lake Victoria Ring Road Begins November

Kenya President William Ruto has announced that construction of the Construction Of 500km Lake Victoria Ring Road kicks off this November.

The project has been on pipeline for over 15 years but with no implementation. Ruto has promised that construction will commence immediately a month from now.

“Construction of the 500km Lake Victoria Ring Road, which has been awaited for more than 15 years, will begin in November 2026. It will run from Busia to Muhuru Bay in Migori County, through Siaya, Kisumu and Homa Bay counties,” Ruto said on Tuesday.

He revealed, “Additionally, KSh32 billion will be invested to build 400km of new roads in Siaya County.”

Lake Victoria one of world’s largest fresh water lakes is shared between Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
