African Aviation could propell the sector to commendable global standards and competition if there was an accelerated cooperation among the regions of the continent.
At the on going 10th Aviation Africa Summit in Kenya’s capital Nairobi, industry experts, policy makers, manufacturers and chain captains are discussing on how to improve regional civil aviation collaboration.
Delegates are also exploring the best way to implement Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM) necessary to propel integration of economies and connectivity within Africa.
“Aviation is not just a means of transport. It is an enabler of trade, tourism, investment, healthcare, education, humanitarian assistance and cultural exchange,” said Musalia Mudavadi, Kenya’s Premeir and foreign Affairs Minister.
Adeyemi Adesewa the secretary general of Africa civil aviation commission urged civil aviation authorities to Fast track regulatory harmonisation and mutual recognition of safety standards.
About 135 airlines and aviation operators are attending the summit that has attracted more than 2500 guests from over 100 countries.
