Rwanda and Jordan have taken another step toward strengthening bilateral cooperation in policing and public security following a high-level meeting between the leadership of the two countries’ national police institutions.

The Inspector General of the Rwanda National Police, CG Felix Namuhoranye, on Tuesday welcomed Maj. Gen. Obeidallah Abedrabbuh Maaitah, Director of Jordan’s Public Security Directorate, at the Rwanda National Police General Headquarters in Kacyiru.

The bilateral meeting focused on reinforcing cooperation in policing, public safety, and institutional capacity-building, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to expanding collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

The discussions also explored ways to strengthen professional exchanges and enhance cooperation in addressing evolving security challenges.

Speaking after the meeting, Inspector General CG Felix Namuhoranye emphasized the importance of international partnerships in advancing effective policing.

“Strong partnerships between police institutions are essential to addressing today’s increasingly complex security challenges. Our continued collaboration with Jordan reflects a shared commitment to enhancing public safety, professionalism, and the exchange of best practices for the benefit of our two nations,” he said.

The engagement builds on the growing diplomatic and security relations between Rwanda and Jordan, underscoring the shared vision of both countries to promote regional and international security through cooperation, knowledge-sharing, and institutional partnerships.

The visit is expected to further consolidate ties between the Rwanda National Police and Jordan’s Public Security Directorate, paving the way for expanded collaboration in policing and public guy security initiatives.
