AFR Appoints Former BRD Chief Kampeta Pitchette Sayinzoga as New CEO

Access to Finance Rwanda (AFR) has announced the appointment of Kampeta Pitchette Sayinzoga as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), bringing on board an experienced leader with an extensive background in Rwanda’s financial and industrial development sectors.

Sayinzoga most recently served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Development Bank of Rwanda (BRD), a position she held from 2019 to 2025. During her tenure, she played a key role in strengthening the bank’s mandate to finance transformative projects that support Rwanda’s economic growth and private sector development.

Before joining BRD, Sayinzoga was the Director General of the National Industrial Research and Development Agency (NIRDA), where she served from 2017.

In that role, she spearheaded initiatives aimed at promoting industrial innovation, value addition, and the competitiveness of Rwanda’s manufacturing sector.

Her appointment to AFR marks a new chapter for the organization, which works to expand access to inclusive financial services and promote financial sector development in Rwanda.

With her extensive experience in development finance, industrial policy, and institutional leadership, Sayinzoga is expected to lead AFR in advancing financial inclusion, fostering innovation in financial services, and supporting initiatives that improve access to finance for individuals and businesses across the country.

AFR expressed confidence that Sayinzoga’s expertise and leadership will help drive the organization’s mission of building a more inclusive and resilient financial ecosystem in Rwanda.
