Rwanda National Police has assured exhibitors, business leaders and thousands of visitors attending the 29th Rwanda International Trade Fair (RITF 2026) that comprehensive security measures have been put in place to guarantee a safe and peaceful exhibition throughout the event.
The assurance was delivered by Rwanda National Police Spokesperson ACP Boniface Rutikanga during the official opening of the annual trade fair at the PSF Gikondo Expo Grounds in Kigali, where he represented the police force.
Addressing members of the media during a press briefing, ACP Rutikanga said the police had deployed adequate personnel and coordinated security arrangements to ensure the safety of exhibitors, investors, shoppers and other participants expected to attend one of Rwanda’s largest business exhibitions.
He called on the public to cooperate with security agencies by observing public safety guidelines and reporting any suspicious activities that could compromise the smooth running of the event.
ACP Rutikanga also issued a stern warning against the consumption and sale of illicit alcoholic brews, reminding the public that such products are strictly prohibited within and around the exhibition grounds, as well as in surrounding areas.
He emphasized that enforcement operations would be carried out throughout the trade fair to ensure compliance with the law and protect public health and safety.
The Rwanda International Trade Fair is the country’s premier annual business exhibition, bringing together hundreds of local and international exhibitors from diverse sectors including manufacturing, agriculture, technology, finance, construction and consumer goods.
The event serves as a key platform for businesses to showcase products, establish partnerships and explore investment opportunities while attracting tens of thousands of visitors over its duration.
Security has become an increasingly important component of the trade fair as attendance continues to grow each year, with Rwanda National Police working alongside other institutions to maintain order, facilitate traffic management and provide emergency response services, reinforcing Rwanda’s reputation as a safe destination for trade, investment and international events.
