The Ministry of Public Service and Labour (MIFOTRA) has released encouraging data on labour inspection and compliance for the period from January to June 2026.

During this time, inspectors visited a total of 2,290 establishments across Rwanda to verify adherence to labour laws.

The ministry achieved an overall compliance rate of 86.4 percent among the inspected workplaces.

In parallel, officials successfully settled 814 labour disputes through mediation and other resolution processes.

However, 71 establishments were fined for failing to meet regulatory requirements.

MIFOTRA emphasized that promoting compliance with labour legislation is vital for creating fair, safe, and productive work environments.

The ministry stated that it will continue strengthening inspection efforts to protect workers’ rights and advance decent work for all Rwandans.

These results demonstrate Rwanda’s ongoing commitment to effective labour market governance and improved working conditions nationwide.
