The Inspector General of Police (IGP), CG Felix Namuhoranye, has urged a contingent of Rwanda National Police officers preparing for deployment to the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) to uphold the country’s reputation by demonstrating professionalism and excellence in peacekeeping.
Addressing the officers on Monday, the Police Chief emphasized the importance of maintaining the trust Rwanda has earned internationally through its longstanding contribution to UN peacekeeping operations.
He encouraged the officers to remain disciplined, committed and people-centred as they prepare to serve in the Central African Republic, where they will play a key role in protecting civilians and supporting peace and stability.
“Continue flying Rwanda’s flag high by building on the confidence the international community has placed in our country. Carry out your duties professionally so that the good reputation Rwanda has earned in peacekeeping, especially in protecting civilians, becomes even stronger,” CG Felix Namuhoranye told the officers.

Rwanda is widely recognized as one of the world’s leading contributors to United Nations peacekeeping missions, with its police and military personnel serving in several conflict-affected countries.
Rwandan peacekeepers have earned international recognition for their discipline, professionalism and dedication to protecting civilians.
The latest deployment to the Central African Republic reinforces Rwanda’s continued commitment to global peace and security through the United Nations, while strengthening its role as a reliable partner in international peacekeeping efforts.
