The Director General of the Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC), Claude Mambo Muvunyi, has been appointed as a member of the Governing Board of the European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP), marking another significant milestone for Rwanda’s growing influence in global health research.
The EDCTP is a partnership between European countries and nations in sub-Saharan Africa that works to strengthen clinical research and accelerate the development of innovative health solutions.
The organization focuses particularly on supporting research and clinical trials aimed at preventing, diagnosing, and treating infectious diseases that disproportionately affect populations in Africa.
Prof. Muvunyi’s appointment reflects international recognition of his extensive experience in biomedical research, public health leadership, and Rwanda’s continued commitment to advancing scientific innovation.
