Two senior officers of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) have graduated from advanced defence studies programmes at the Joaan bin Jassim Academy for Defence Studies in Qatar after successfully completing ten months of professional military education.
The graduates, Lt Col Christian Mushengezi and Lt Col John Bosco Kamuhangire, completed the intensive programme designed to strengthen strategic leadership, defence planning and military professionalism. In addition to their military studies, the officers also successfully completed Arabic language training, enhancing their ability to engage in international military cooperation and multinational operations.
The graduation ceremony was presided over by Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs. The event brought together senior officials of the Qatar Armed Forces, members of the diplomatic corps and other distinguished guests.
The Rwanda Defence Force was represented at the ceremony by Rwanda’s Defence Attaché to Qatar, Col. Bernard Niyomugabo.
The graduation reflects the RDF’s continued investment in professional military education and international defence partnerships, equipping its officers with advanced strategic knowledge and language skills that support Rwanda’s participation in regional and international peace and security initiatives.
