Rwanda generated USD 10.8 million from agricultural exports between 8 and 12 June 2026, reinforcing the country’s growing position as a leading exporter of high-value agricultural products in the region.
According to data released by the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB), the country exported 9,946 metric tonnes of agricultural products during the five-day period, highlighting the resilience and diversification of Rwanda’s export sector.
Diversified agricultural products emerged as the largest contributor to export earnings, generating USD 5.27 million from 7,846 metric tonnes shipped mainly to Bangladesh, Oman, and various African countries.
Coffee and tea, Rwanda’s traditional export pillars, continued to perform strongly. Coffee exports totaled 383 metric tonnes, earning USD 2.34 million, while tea exports reached 825 metric tonnes, generating USD 2.27 million.

Horticultural products also made notable contributions. Vegetable exports brought in USD 358,227 from 312 metric tonnes, with key markets including China, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, and several African countries.
Fruit exports generated USD 223,727 from 323 metric tonnes, primarily destined for the United Arab Emirates and African markets.
Meanwhile, flower exports earned USD 78,149 from 14 metric tonnes, with the Netherlands and the United Kingdom serving as the principal destinations.
Animal products contributed USD 273,705 from 243 metric tonnes, with exports largely serving markets across Africa.
The latest figures underscore Rwanda’s ongoing efforts to diversify its export portfolio, expand access to international markets, and strengthen the agricultural value chain.
The performance reflects the country’s strategic investments in quality production, value addition, and market development aimed at increasing foreign exchange earnings and improving farmers’ livelihoods.
As global demand for sustainably produced agricultural commodities continues to rise, Rwanda is positioning itself to capitalize on emerging opportunities while solidifying its reputation as a reliable supplier of premium agricultural products.
