Taarifa News desk has learned that Kenya has sent a 12-member team of outstanding university students to represent the country at the Huawei ICT Competition Global Finals 2026 in Shenzhen, China.
Details indicate they will compete against more than 2,000 students from across the world in one of the globe’s most prestigious technology competitions.
The students were Selected through merit, dedication and excellence by Huawei ICT Academy Programme after excelling in national and regional stages of the competition, earning the opportunity to compete among the world’s top young technology talents.
“You are not there because of luck, but because of talent,” said, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
The 12 students selected from various universities across Kenya, will compete in networking, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and other emerging technology categories during the global finals.
