The Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) on Wednesday received a delegation from the Internal Audit Office of the Kingdom of Eswatini, in a bilateral engagement focused on anti-corruption policies, strategies, and prevention mechanisms.

The Eswatini delegation, led by Internal Audit Office Director Ms. Portia Mamba, was received by RIB Director General for Crime Intelligence and Counter Terrorism, Karake Peter.

Discussions between the two sides covered a broad range of governance and accountability issues, including the frameworks Rwanda has put in place to combat corruption, the strategies deployed to prevent corrupt practices, and the mechanisms used to detect and investigate cases as they arise.

The delegation was also briefed on RIB’s working relationship with the Office of the Ombudsman and other competent authorities, with particular focus on how these institutions coordinate to handle corruption cases and address other injustices effectively.

The visit reflects a growing interest among African nations in learning from Rwanda’s anti-corruption architecture, which has been widely recognised on the continent for its institutional coherence and measurable results.

For Eswatini’s Internal Audit Office, the engagement offers an opportunity to benchmark practices and draw lessons that could inform reforms within the Kingdom’s own governance and accountability structures.
