Two people have been confirmed death following a deadly clash between Wazalendo militiaman and a civilians in Ntoto town Waloa Uroba group in the Walikale territory of North Kivu.
The clashes flared off on Thursday. It all started with a discussion between the militia and the civilian while they were sharing alcohol.
Under the influence of alcohol, the fighter opened fire on the civilian, who died instantly.
Enraged, the residents of Ntoto beheaded the fighter who had shot the civilian.
Attempting to disperse the angry crowd, the Wazalendo members of the Uhuru RDC group fired several shots.
In the ensuing chaos, a civilian was shot in the left eye. Seriously wounded, he was taken to the Ntoto referral health center for treatment.
Barthelemy Mulengezi the interim chief of the Waloa Uroba group said that activities have been were paralyzed as residents are in total panic fearing deadly reprisals.
