The Water and Sanitation Corporation (WASAC Group) has reassured the public that water tariffs in Rwanda remain unchanged, pushing back against circulating rumors suggesting a price increase.
In an official public notice released on April 17, 2026, WASAC clarified that the current water pricing structure, approved by the Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) and in effect since February 1, 2019, has not been modified.
The utility provider expressed concern over what it described as “misinformation” being spread among the public, falsely claiming that water tariffs have recently risen.
WASAC urged customers and the general public to disregard such claims, emphasizing that no adjustments have been made to water pricing.
“We kindly urge the public to ignore these misleading reports,” the statement read.

Reinforcing the corporation’s commitment to transparency and accurate communication.
Additionally, WASAC issued a warning regarding the spread of false information, reminding citizens that disseminating misinformation can lead to legal consequences under applicable laws.
The announcement comes as part of WASAC’s broader efforts to maintain trust with its customers and ensure clarity around essential public services.
