Drone Strike in Goma Eliminates French Aid Worker

A United Nations aid worker, a French national died after a drone struck Goma city in Eastern DRC on Wednesday.

The French national was an employee of the UN Children’s Fund.

The AFC/M23 rebels blamed Congo’s government for the strike in a press conference broadcast from Goma Wednesday.

“I condemn in the strongest terms the use of weapons, including armed drones, that endanger civilian populations and United Nations personnel,” said Bruno Lemarquis, the interim head of the UN peacekeeping mission in Congo.
