An exclusive investigation reveals that Angola has rejected requests by President Felix Tshisekedi to deploy it’s troops to fight the AFC/M23 fighters in DRC.

“Angola will not deploy its armed forces to protect Greater Katanga from a possible invasion by the AFC/M23 rebels,” said sources close to Angola Presidency.

However, Angola President João Lourenço has advised President Tshisekedi to convene dialogue to resolve the causes of Congolese problems.

Meanwhile, DRC’s Foreign Affairs Minister Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner flew to Washington DC on Monday for a series of high-level meetings with members of the Trump Administration and the United States Congress.

This impromptu trip comes up in a diplomatically complex situation following the unilateral offer by the AFC/M23 rebels to withdraw from the strategic Uvira city of South Kivu province.

However, the rebels have conditioned that there be a neutral force to monitor security of the City.

Bertrand Bisimwa a top official of the rebel alliance warned on Tuesday, “If our conditions are not respected, no withdrawal will take place in Uvira.”

Patrick Muyaya, the Kinshasa regime spokesperson claimed that the rebels offer to withdraw from Uvira city is “A diversion”.

In a related response, Édouard Bizimana, Burundi’s Minister of Foreign Affairs said via his page on Platform X, “This is yet another pure lie intended to mislead international opinion, the President of the United States, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and all peace-loving people.”
