Zambian President Sends Message to His Rwandan Counterpart

Ambassador Lazarous Kapambwe, the special envoy of Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema, delivered a message to President Paul Kagame last night.

The meeting took place at Village Urugwiro, reflecting the strong relationship between Rwanda and Zambia, which has been reinforced over time through various cooperation agreements.

In 2022, President Kagame visited Zambia, where he and his Zambian counterparts signed seven agreements across multiple sectors. These included trade and investment, agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture development, and collaboration between the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA). They also signed agreements on tax cooperation.

Later, President Hichilema visited Rwanda at President Kagame’s invitation.

During the two-day visit, the two leaders discussed ways to advance the implementation of the agreements, focusing on benefiting the citizens of both nations.

Delegations from Rwanda and Zambia explored areas of collaboration, including trade, agriculture, and opportunities for knowledge sharing between the two countries.

A joint commission was also established to oversee the cooperation between Rwanda and Zambia.
