In a gesture of camaraderie and regional military cooperation, Uganda’s Commander of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, hosted a special dinner in honour of his Rwandan counterpart, General Mubarakh Muganga, the Chief of Defence Staff of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF).
The event, held last night in Jinja, underscored the growing warmth and collaboration between the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) and the RDF. General Muganga, who was on an official visit, had earlier delivered what was described as a “lecture of opportunity” to senior officers attending the prestigious Senior Staff and Command Course in Jinja.
“It was my honour and pleasure to host my brother… I thank General Muganga for responding to my invitation positively,” General Kainerugaba shared in a statement, praising the RDF leader’s contribution to the ongoing course and the symbolic importance of his visit.
The dinner also served to reaffirm the historic and strategic ties between the two countries’ defence establishments, which have seen steady improvement in recent years following high-level diplomatic engagements.
“Long live the brotherly relations between UPDF and RDF! God bless Uganda and Rwanda!” Kainerugaba added.
This visit marks yet another milestone in the ongoing efforts to enhance regional security cooperation and reflects a shared vision for stability and peace in the Great Lakes region.
