Today, UN Resident Coordinator Ozonnia Ojiello paid a courtesy visit to Col (Rtd) Jeannot Ruhunga, Secretary General of the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB).
The visit centered on enhancing collaboration between the United Nations system and Rwanda, focusing on crime management and law enforcement.
During the meeting, Ojiello praised RIB’s remarkable achievements, noting that despite being just eight years old, it has become one of the most effective institutions in Rwanda.
He commended RIB’s efforts in preventing, investigating, and detecting crime, underlining its critical role in upholding the rule of law.
The discussion highlighted the strong partnership between the UN and Rwanda, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to further collaboration.
Ojiello emphasized the importance of RIB’s work in maintaining peace and security, ensuring justice, and promoting stability across the country.
