Tears of joy rolled down the faces of Youthful Ugandan footballers after they emerged victorious in the quest for qualification for next year’s U-17 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for Morocco in Northern Africa.
The Ugandans walloped (1-0) Djibouti’s under 17s in Semifinal match played in Rwanda at Umuganda Stadium, Rubavu district. Uganda’s Mawa Oscar pierced into Djibouti’s net for the only goal in the 90-minutes game.
The triumphant Ugandans have harvested all three games unbeaten.
According to the score card, Uganda led Group A with the maximum 6 points from two matches and shall encounter the runners up in Group B.
The 2021 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations will be the 14th edition of the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations, the biennial international youth football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football for players aged 17 and below.
The tournament would be hosted by Morocco in July 2021. 12 teams will appear for this prestigious tournament.
