South Sudan Parties Sign Final Peace Agreement

South Sudan President Salva Kiir and his rival Riek Machar have signed a Final Peace Agreement which will mean that no side will engage in rebellion but work together for peace.

The deal was signed in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia during the 33rd extra ordinary summit of the Inter-governmental Authority on Development (IGAD).

President Kiir was seen shaking hands with his nemesis after the signing- both leaders wore warm smiles as their handlers looked on in clear jubilation.

This gesture has attracted a lot of attention and reaction from south Sudanese.

Taarifa captured some of their mixed reactions.

“Implementation the most vital part awaits us it’s not just one person task but every body’s so Congratulations to South Sudan,” Obuto Sonia said.

Jimbo Boss Awan,said, “Congratulating that Dr. Reik Machar he won’t become president of south sudan and it’s always same story and Salva Kirr Mayardit go back to Java and Dr. Reik Machar is stuck in Ethiopia like all the time.”

“I would like to say congratulations to the south Sudanese people. God bless south Sudan,” said Yohannes Gebrekidan John.

Meanwhile, Alex Asiimwe said, “Let’s hope it shall be respected.”
