Sophia Robot Confirms Will Attend Transform Africa Summit In Kigali

Transform Africa Summit this year will be very exciting and will give a glimpse into the intricate future of humankind.

Sophia, the world’s first humanoid robot has confirmed that will also attend this TAS2019 summit in Kigali capital.

In 2017, Sophia was granted Saudi citizenship by the kingdom of Saudi Arabia- this was the first robot to be given legal personhood anywhere in the world. She was activated in 2016.

She has an unsettling human-like appearance, compounded with the complex ability to express emotions. She can make more than 50 facial expressions.

However, when Will Smith a celebrated US based music icon met with Sophia, everything went well during their conversation but when Smith tried to kiss, Sophia was not emotionally responsive.

Delegates at the Transform Africa Summit in Kigali will have a chance to deliberate with Sophia under the theme “Boosting Africa’s Digital Economy”.

over 4,000 participants are expected at the summit and those who have confirmed include; Heads of State and Government, First Ladies, UN Broadband Commissioners, Ministers, Regulators, Mayors & Governors, Public & Private Sector, International Organizations, Industry Leaders, Investors, Entrepreneurs, Young Innovators, Civil Society and Academia.
