On the sidelines of the International Security Conference on Africa (ISCA2025), General Mubarakh Muganga, Chief of Defence Staff of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), met with General Paul Nang Majok, Chief of Defence Forces of the South Sudan People’s Defence Forces (SSPDF), to explore ways of strengthening defence ties between the two nations.
Both generals are in Kigali participating in ISCA2025, a landmark forum that has brought together over 600 delegates from 70 countries to address Africa’s security challenges and promote African-led solutions.
Their meeting focused on deepening bilateral defence cooperation, with discussions touching on joint training programs, intelligence sharing, peacekeeping collaboration, and broader regional security coordination.
The engagement underscores the shared commitment of Rwanda and South Sudan to advancing military diplomacy and regional stability in an era of increasingly complex security threats.
It also reflects the spirit of ISCA2025—positioning African countries as credible and capable actors in shaping their own peace and security agenda.
