Rwanda is targeting to generate a total of $74 million from conferences all hosted in 2018.

According to the Rwanda Convention Bureau Rwanda hosted 192 conferences in 2017 and fetched $42million.

Speaking at the announcement, the Chief Executive Officer, Rwanda Development Board, Clare Akamanzi, said that the Africa CEO Forum was an opportunity local, continental and global business to discuss how to modernize Africa’s economy.

In less than 7 editions, the AFRICA CEO FORUM has become the event of the African private sector that’s not to be missed.

An outstanding networking platform, it fosters high-level business relationships and promotes African companies on the continent and internationally.

“Africa CEO Forum is yet another opportunity for Rwanda’s private sector to meet their international counterparts to discuss business opportunities on the international level.

As Rwanda seeks to position itself as the preferred MICE destination in Africa, she added “we believe that the Forum is a great opportunity for Rwanda to showcase to the world, our know-how when it comes to hosting the biggest meetings on the African continent.”

“We look forward to hosting the Africa CEO Forum, we are confident that it will bring great value to both local and continental businesspeople”, Clare Akamanzi concluded.

The country is expecting to complete a new international Airport facility in Bugesera district which will significantly handle a sizeable number of passengers coupled with an expanding national carrier that has recently increased its destinations across the globe.

Few days ago, Rwanda’s National Carrier announced it was in the process of acquiring the operating permit to fly to China’s economic city of Guangzhou bringing the total destinations to 28.

RwandAir was granted permission to fly directly to the United States. With these destinations within the reach by RwandAir, it will be easy for tourists from Asia and US to connect to Rwanda.

Meanwhile, Rwanda has increased the number of hotels, touristic attractions and stocked Akagera National park with rhinos, lions to complete the big 5 package that is very attractive to many tourists.
