President Paul Kagame has extended support to the people of Palestine in need of humanitarian assistance in the Gaza strip.
Over two million people in Gaza are in dire need of water, food and medical supplies due to the ongoing Israel offensive.
The supplies sent from Rwanda on a Rwandair Cargo plane on Thursday night were received by the Jordanian Hashemite Charitable Organization (JHCO), a charity organization that seeks to mobilize voluntary charitable organizations and cooperate with them inside and outside Jordan.
“We have received today a humanitarian aid cargo plane from the country of Rwanda for the people in Gaza, containing medical supplies, food and milk,” JHCO said early Friday.
JHCO received 10 tones of fortified NOOTRI Baby and fortified NOOTRI Family, a highly nutritious dry meal composed of grains such as wheat, soya and powdered whole milk.
NOOTRI are products of Africa Improved Foods (AIF), a Rwandan manufacturer and supplier of high- quality and nutrient-rich complementary foods to combat malnutrition for children and pregnant and breastfeeding women in Rwanda and the East African region.
In Gaza, the UN has said that water, food, fuel, medical supplies, and even body bags, are running out due to the siege. The UN warned that people – particularly young children – will soon start dying of severe dehydration.
Neighbourhoods have been destroyed and turned into complete rubble. Palestinians in search of safety have nowhere to go.
Many of those who relocated from northern Gaza to the south after the relocation order by the Israeli army were reportedly bombed as they attempted to flee or once they arrived in southern Gaza.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed sources say President Paul Kagame is expected to travel to the middle east next week to attend the 7th Future Investment Initiative Business Conference on 24-26 October to be held in Saudi Arabia.
Kagame will engage in discussions on regional and global issues including the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine in Gaza.
