In recognition of outstanding efforts in promoting hygiene, cleanliness, and fighting stunting, Rwanda National Police has handed over a motorcycle to Huye District.
The motorcycle will be awarded to Mbazi Sector, which emerged as the top performer in the 2023/2024 cleanliness and hygiene competition.
The motorcycle, complete with a one-year insurance package, is intended to aid the sector in monitoring and sustaining cleanliness activities. Cleanliness is a key pillar in ensuring the well-being of communities, contributing to healthier living standards.
In partnership with Rwanda National Police, a similar prize was awarded to Byimana Sector in Ruhango District, which excelled in promoting cleanliness and hygiene in the 2023/2024 fiscal year.
This recognition is part of the RNP’s promise to districts made during Citzen outreach programs, which was concluded in June 2024.
It is also part of the government’s broader initiative to incentivize sectors that prioritize public health and sanitation.
The competition, an annual event, encourages sectors across Rwanda to uphold high standards of cleanliness, contributing to the overall health and well-being of communities.
