RIB has arrested Bigwi Alain Lolain, the Executive Secretary of Mugombwa Sector in Gisagara District, who is suspected of soliciting a bribe.
He allegedly requested a bribe from a resident, promising to assist them in obtaining a building permit.
He is being held at the Rwezamenyo RIB Station as his case file is being prepared for submission to the Prosecution.
RIB reminds those who abuse their positions by engaging in activities for personal gain, including soliciting and accepting bribes to carry out unlawful actions, that they are punishable by law.
It also encourages Rwandans to continue reporting anyone who demands bribes for services they are entitled to.
