Fortunat Biselele, a recently very powerful fixer for President Félix Tshisekedi is currently cooling within the walls of Makala central prison since Friday.
Kinshasa regime has remained tight lipped about the concrete reasons for his arrest and detention.
However, local critics claim that Fortunat Biselele who holds a valid Rwandan passport is suspected of colluding with Kigali authorities.
According to several official sources, Biselele was arrested since January 14, for investigation reasons. The reasons that led to this arrest were never revealed by the officials.
Reputed to be close and influential with the President Tshisekedi , several local and foreign media have reported suspicions of collusion with a neighboring country, Rwanda, which Kinshasa accuses of supporting the March 23 Movement (M23).
Local congolese press quoted some sources claiming that a large sum of cash was found in one of Biseleleis residences in Kinshasa.
Biselele, was escorted to the Kinshasa prosecutor’s office on Friday, 5 days after being dismissed from government where he played a strategic role.
Biselele arrived at the DRC courthouse at 5:40 p.m., escorted by three black vans, one of which was transporting him with a dozen armed soldiers.
Several minutes after his arrival, the President of this Court left the prosecution to join his office, without making any statements.
