Reports reaching Taarifa Investigative Desk indicate that there are high possibilities that at the beginning of 2021, Congolese President Felix Antoine Tshisekedi may make a very surprising announcement- a new coalition government.
During this weekend, President Tshisekedi invited two heavy weight Congolese Politicians Jean-Pierre Bemba and Moïse Katumbi Chapwe to his office.
Our reliable source said the three politicians discussed the latest details around the Sacred Union resulting from the Presidential consultations last November, they agreed to meet again to discuss the establishment of new government.
“The meeting lasted three hours. It was held at the City of the African Union. The three men continued their conversation over a meal and did not make any statement to the press,” according to the source.
However, a tweet was released in the wee hours of this Sunday, December 27, 2020, saying, “Jean-Pierre Bemba and Moise Katumbi are leaving Kinshasa this Sunday. The plane carrying them will pass through Gemena before reaching Lubumbashi.”
In 2019, Moïse Katumbi, 55, formed his own political party Ensemble pour la République, with its roots in his Lubumbashi fiefdom. Katumbi’s desire is to make his mark on the political scene by 2023.
Meanwhile, Jean-Pierre Bemba Gombo,58, was one of four vice-presidents in the transitional government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo from 17 July 2003 to December 2006.
Bemba is the leader of Mouvement de libération du Congo (MLC)- On December 6, Bemba met President Tshisekedi during the presidential consultations.
“It is in particular peace, security, the strengthening of democracy, the rule of law, the credibility of the electoral process, the independence of the judiciary, the construction of infrastructures, the employment of young people, as well as the promotion of the emergence of a new Congo,” MLC party said in a press release after the consultations.
According to Jean-Pierre Bemba’s party, all of his concerns that obstruct the development of the DRC are part of the essential and urgent reforms, preludes to a new Congo.
Much is anticipated from the meeting that has brought the three politicians together and next week an announcement will be made.
