On Wednesday afternoon, President Paul Kagame received letters of credence from 11 newly appointed envoys at Urugwiro Village, reaffirming Rwanda’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations.
Among the envoys received were Ambassador Dag Sjöögren of Sweden, High Commissioner Ernest Yaw Amporful of Ghana, Brig. Gen. Mamary Camara of Mali, and High Commissioner Lincoln G. Downer of Jamaica. President Kagame also accepted credentials from Ambassador Nadeska Imara Cuthbert Carlson of Nicaragua, High Commissioner Savvas Vladimirou of Cyprus, Ambassador Patricio Alberto Aguirre Vacchieri of Chile, and Ambassador Jeanne Crauser of Luxembourg.
Additionally, credentials were presented by Ambassador Mirko Giulietti of Switzerland, Ambassador Sahak Sargsyan of Armenia, and High Commissioner Jenny Isabella Da Rin of Australia.
Earlier in the day, the envoys met with Rwanda’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Olivier Nduhungirehe, who briefed them on the country’s diplomatic priorities. Minister Nduhungirehe highlighted Rwanda’s focus on fostering robust international partnerships in areas such as trade, investment, and peacebuilding.
The presentation of credentials highlights Rwanda’s ongoing efforts to maintain strong ties with nations across different continents, in line with the country’s development blueprint, NST2. The emphasis on diplomacy as a key pillar for achieving sustainable growth was reiterated during the engagements.
These latest appointments further deepen Rwanda’s global outreach, setting the stage for collaboration in critical sectors as the country continues to cement its place on the international stage.
