Yesterday at Urugwiro Village, President Paul Kagame received Dr. Albert Bourla, Chairman and CEO of Pfizer Inc, along with his delegation.
The meeting focused on discussions around the initiative An Accord for a Healthier World, which aims to promote equitable access to high-quality, safe, and effective healthcare solutions.
This partnership aligns with Rwanda’s broader efforts to improve global health. Over the years, Rwanda has made significant strides in healthcare, with initiatives such as universal health coverage through, Mutuelle de Santé, and the expansion of community-based healthcare services.
The country has also played a leading role in fighting infectious diseases, becoming a hub for vaccine manufacturing in Africa.
The collaboration with Pfizer further strengthens Rwanda’s position as a key player in global health, promoting access to life-saving medicines and vaccines not only for its citizens but also across the continent.
This initiative is particularly important in addressing global health disparities and ensuring that underserved populations receive the healthcare they need.
The discussions underscore Rwanda’s ongoing commitment to building resilient healthcare systems, fostering partnerships with international health leaders, and contributing to improved health outcomes worldwide.
