President Paul Kagame on Sunday addressed residents of the city of Kigali under the citizen outreach program.
The session covers various topics including the ongoing crisis in neighbouring DRC, arrest of notorious Brig. Gen. Jean-Baptiste Gakwerere captured on the battlefield by AFC/M23 fighters,
“Gakwerere has been in Congo for more than 30 years,” President Kagame said.
Brig. Gen. Gakwerere who was captured live with 20 others all in DRC military fatigue is accused of assassinating Rwanda’s last queen, Queen Rosalie Gicanda.
Queen Gicanda was killed at her home near the Ngoma Commune office.

Confronts Belgium
President Paul Kagame during the outreach session warned that he will confront those who keep abusing Rwanda.
He urged Rwandans to understand that they are Rwandans and will never be Belgians. “We are Rwandans not Belgians,” said Kagame. Rwanda gained independence from Belgium in 1962.
Relations between Rwanda and Belgium have recently turned sour over disagreements on the crisis in Democratic Republic of Congo.
The deteriorating relations led Rwanda to stop its aid cooperation with Belgium.
Rwanda accuses Brussels of sabotaging its access to “development finance, including in multilateral institutions”.
